An investigation on a native product of Bacillus thuringiensis effective on Hyponomeuta malinellus outbreaks in Taleghan region

Hyponomeuta malinellus in apple orchards especially mountain regions is one of the most important pests in Iran and chemical control is necessary for educing of the pest damage. A study was conducted to determine the efficacy of Bacillus thuringiensis against this pest under orchard conditions during 2010-2011. Treatments were Diazinon(EC 60%) and Bacillus thuringiensis( as liquid formulation). All of experiments were conducted based on compelet randomized block design with 4 replications by mentioned insecticides. Sampling was done 4 ,7 and 14 days after treatments application. The mortality of the pest was calculated by Abbot formula and means were separated by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. Results showed that Diazinon at rate of 1:1000 and B.t. at rate of 4:1000 were effective, on pest population and controlled the pest.
