In order to prepare standard tables of chemical composition of feedstuffs in Iran. this research was carried out on alfalfa (three cut) in kermanshah province. To determine their chemical composition and gross energy of feedstuff, 67 villages according to probability stratified random sampling method were selected. The collection of samples were conducted in each village, on the average 3 farmers were chosen randomly and then the samples were taken from their hay store, Total of 106 samples were collected including 52 alfalfa (3rd cut) , 29 alfalfa (2nd cut) and 25 samples of alfalfa (Lst cut) , 15 samples of alfalfa were collected from each cut (1,2) and 30 samples alfalfa were collected from 3rd cut. Ultimately 60 samples were taken for chemical analysis, crude protein, crude fibre, ether extract. ash, gross energy, N.F.E., macro elements (Ca.P,K,Na,Mg) and micro elements (Fe.Mn.Zn.Cu). The mean, standard deviation, range and coefficient of Variation (C.V) of nutrients and mineral contents and also the correlation coefficient between the parameters in each of feedstuffs were calculated. The averege crude protein content of first. second. and third cut were 13.2.15.6, 15.3 percent respectively. The highest c.V, belonged to first cut (l9.77%) and the lowest one belonged io the second CUI (11.08%) and the ether extract content of alfalfa first. Second and third cut were 0.91. 1.12 and 1.13 percent respectively.
