Sugar beet leaf spot disease is the most destructive foliage disease of this crop which causes heavy loss of root yield and sugar content in warm and wet condition. Breeding of resistant varieties is the best solution to overcome the disease. In this research, quality and quantity characters and cercospora and bolting resistance of recently produced sugar beet hybrids along developed from crossing of resistant sources (SB-16) were evaluated in the field trials with resistant and susceptible checks. The filed trials were conducted in experimrents with 9 hybrids arranged in a randomized complete block design whth four replicatides in years 2007-2008, in naturally infested farm (Dezful province) as well as a non _ infested farm (Karaj). The results of trials showed that among treatments, the hybrid 28364 had a higher mean sugar yield across years and locations. Also, this hybrid had a higher bolting resistance than other Iranian hybrids in these trials. The results also showed that among the treatments, the hybrid 28367 was the best hybrid for cercospora resistance in infested area. Furthermore, the bolting resistance of these two hybrids was higher than other Iranian hybrids and comparable with the Iranian and foreign resistant checks.
