A`zizi, Farhad
22 new Iranian Hybrids produced in Maize and Forage Crops research department of SPII with 3 control hybrids ( KSC700, KSC704 and KSC720) were evaluated in a randomized complete block design to comparison for wet and dry forage yield at Karaj in 2008. Seeds of all hybrids cultivated in 4 lines with 5 meter length. The Distance between rows and seeds in row was 75 and 40 centimeters respectively. All agronomical operations were done based on current methods in maize and forage research department of SPII. The traits such as anthesis, silking, ASI, plant height, ear height, number of leaves, stem diameter, ear index, wet and dry weight of plant and ear separately in first doughy stage of kernels were measured. The results showed that hybrids no. 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 15 and 20 had more dry and wet forage yield. In addition hybrids no 1, 2, 4, and 6 had better ear index among all of the hybrids.
