2007
Azhar Ismail | Kasran R, | Furtek, D.B., Malaysian Cocoa Board, Wisma Sedco, 5-6th Floors, Locked Bag 211, 88999 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Malaysia)
Our vision for the Malaysian cocoa industry by the end of this century is based on several premises: 1) Malaysia will have been a fully-developed country for at least 80 years, so land and labor will be much more expensive than in other cocoa-producing countries. 2) Malaysia will be a major processor of beans and manufacturer of chocolate. 3) Growers will be well-educated, so they can adopt advanced technologies. 4) Natural chocolate will have stiff competition from artificial "chocolates." 5) Consumers will demand quality and uniqueness and can pay for it.
