Study on accurate discharge rate of granular materials for crop production in agriculture.
1992
Shimonasako H.
In the field of crop production, it is important to increase the production of crops and to raise their yields per unit area. For these reasons, it is essential to develop an appropriate sowing technique with constant seed spacing and number coupled with methods of application of fertilizers which can be spread to meet the crop demands. To date, many discharge mechanisms for sowing machines have been developed to increase the machine accuracy depending upon the seed external shape. However, in many cases seed spacing remains inaccurate. There are also similar problems for fertilizer spreaders. The discharge rates for powdered and granular fertilizers are difficult to control, mainly because the discharge rates and volumes of fertilizer spreaders are very small compared with industrial discharge machines. As a result, optimum adjustment of agricultural spreaders is difficult to achieve. To solve the above problems, this study was carried out to analyze the factors involved in order to improve overall discharge techniques for granular materials for agricultural use. To active this objective, the relation between the physical properties of granular materials and the discharge apparatus employed for soybean production were analyzed.
