Drying of 2.2x(2.0-6.0) mm and 25 kg feed pellet at the initial moisture content of 32.9 % (wet basis) required 2 and 3 hours for reducing moisture content to 8.0 % (wet basis) and 4.1 % (wet basis) respectively. Average temperature in the cabinet was 65 deg Celsius and 0.44 cubic meter/sec was air flow rate. LPG consumption and cost of drying was 1.13 kg/hour and 1.43 Baht/kg feed respectively. Cost of gas in 10.53 Baht/kg. The straw chopper consists of feeding rolls, counter edge and rotating cutters, and chopped straw outlet. Two rubber feeding rolls of 7.7 cm in diameter rotate in the opposite direction with a clearance of 5.0 mm. Six cutters are fixed on a cylinder assembly. The cutter has the dimensions of 6.8x29.5x10 cm and the edge inclines 10 degree. Test showed that at the rotating speed of 200-300 rpm chop capacity was 97-135 kg/hor. Chopped straw size classified as less than 5 mm long and more than 5 mm long was 80 % and 20 % respectively. Analysis was done by sieving. Moisture content of the straw was 11-15 % (wet basis). Power requirement was 0.8 kW. The dairy barn is designed for 3 cows, however, it can be extended along the side. Structure of the barn is made of wood with gable roof and concrete slab reinforcing by steel or bamboo strips. The floor inclines for providing ease of flowing of of waste water. There is a small ditch to convey waste water to the collector outside.
