Zephyranthes grandiflora bulbs were treated by 3 growth retardants, applied as a quick dip with Alar at 7500 ppm, A-rest at 75 ppm and CCC at 7500 ppm for 30 seconds, and as a soil drench with Alar at 7500, 3750 or 2500 ppm, A-rest at 75, 37.5 or 25 ppm and CCC at 7500, 3750 or 2500 ppm once, twice or three times. Theresults showed that the length of flower stalk of plants receiving A-rest treatments at 37.5 or 25 ppm as double or triple soil drenches were shorter than the other treatments, but all chemicals had no significant effect on flower size and flower number when compared to the untreated ones.
