Statistical analysis to corrected factors of grain protein yield and plant characters in wheat.

36 characters of 73 wheat varieties were statistically analysed. 5 essential characters having significant effect on grain protein content (GPC), protein yield per grain (GPY) and grain protein yield per plant (PPY) were selected respectively for the calculation of criterion contributions per character. The canonical correlation among protein characters (GPC+GPY+PPY), amino acids, non-essential amino acids, yield components, morphological characters and developmental stages were also studied. Use of protein yield as an index in evaluation of breeding materials and in improvement of protein productivity was discussed.
