Comparaison entre le semis et la plantation de la melisse (Melissa officinalis L.) en montagne [Suisse].
1996
Rey Ch.
Direct sowing was tested at Bruson (1100 m above sea level, NE orientation) during the summer of 1992 and spring of 1993. The trial comprised six sowing and three planting dates, respectively. The best dry matter and active ingredients yields were obtained in the first cropping year after sowing at the end of July: the productivity (671 g per square m whole plant and 435 g per square m leaf fresh weight) was 2.5 resp. 2.1 times higher than that of the control crops planted in May. Essential oil content averaged 0.11 % (volume/weight) and was twice as high than that of the control crops. However, direct sowing should be restricted to plots with poor weed cover.
