Utilizando la matriz experimental San Cristobal se estudiaron tres factores con cuatro niveles cada uno: densidad de siembra (8, 12 16 y 20kg semilla ha-1), nitrogeno (0, 30, 60 y 90 kg ha-1) y numero de cortes al forraje (0, 1, 2 y 3), para determinar su efecto sobre la produccion y calidad de la semilla de ballico. La investigacion se realizo en una region con clima BW (h') kw (e'), usando la variedad Tetragold bajo condiciones de riego. Los resultados son presentados mediante ecuaciones de regresion para las variables rendimiento, peso y porcentaje de germinacion de la semilla. Se concluyo que es mejor utilizar una densidad de siembra de 80 kg semilla ha-1, aplicar 100 kg N ha-1 al emerger las plantulas y efectuar tres cortes al forraje con intervalos de 28 dias cada uno, considerando realizar el ultimo durante el mes de marzo.

A San Cristobal experimental matrix was used to study the effect of three factors: seed density (8, 12, 16 y 20 kg ha-1), nitrogen (0, 30, 60 y 90 kg ha-1) and number of forage cuttings (0, 1, 2 and 3) on the production and quality of ryegras seed. This trial was carried out on an area with climate BW (h') hw (e'), using ryegrass variety Tetgragold under irrigation. The results were expressed using regression equations for the variables yield, weight and germination percent of the seed. According to the results it seems better to utilize a seed density of 8.0 kg seed ha-1, to fertilize with 100 kg N ha-1 in the emergence of the seedling and cut the forage three times at 28 days intervals, so that the last cut be made during March.
