The influence of the herbicide application on the weed flora of vineyards in the Bombarral region was studied by comparing the surveys made in 1983/84 by the author and the other ones made in 1967/1968. This work is integrated in another one which studies the correlation between edaphic variables and the weed flora of Bombarral vineyards. The ecological profil method and mutual information was applied. Differences between the two periods are presented, with incidence to the species that occur most frequently, species with a tendency to disappear and those with a tendency to expand. Possible reasons for the apparent increase in the species number verified are discussed such as the invasion by perennials, originally present only in the borders of fields, or in the surrounding woods, and, characteristic species of non-chemically weeded vineyards, together with the characteristic species of chemically weeded vineyards (author).
