To ensure environmentally friendly wood protection and recycling process, some changes in biopolymer structure have to be done by using methods that don't break biological cycles, such as wood acetylation. Wood acetylation process has two stages: diffusion of acetic anhydride in wood and a chemical reaction between acetic anhydride and wood. Diffusion of acetic anhydride in wood was investigated by mathematical modelling of diffusion process of reactant through all surfaces.
