In the western part of Croatia, at the territory of the Bilogorsko--podravska region control of soil fertility on plots intended for sugar beet sowing has been carried out while immediately before harvesting there has been determined the structure of the sugar beet yield in relation to the content of nutritive elements in the soil. It has been found out that the content of physiologically active phosphorus and potassium in the soil considerably varies between low and medium values on the average. Strong to very strong correlation has been established between quantity of nutritive elements and the height and quality of sugar beet yield.
