Extract: With interest in the issue of changing minimum standards in fluid milk products as well as the issue of component pricing of producer milk, it was thought relevant to estimate the impacts on the Georgia dairy industry of increasing minimum standards for solids in fluid milk products. Is it a feasible economic alternative? More specifically, the objectives of this study are: 1. to determine trends in fluid milk product sales within current standards for milk solids, 2. to determine changes in milkfat and solids-not-fat use and accompanying cost changes from an increase in solids, 3. to estimate the impact on fluid milk product sales and utilization of producer milk from a change in solids content.
