The investigated weed species, when growing rather densely, have brought about decrease of soybean grain yield, this depending on the weed population size and species. The noxiousness threshold of the investigated weed species in the conditions of Macva (SFRY) is as follows: Amaranthus retroflexus L. - 1.66 plants per sq m, Chenopodium album L. - 1.70 plants per sq m, Datura stramonium L. - 1.42 plants per sq m, Solanum nigrum L. - 1.66 plants per sq m, Panicum crus galli L. - 1.90 plants per sq m. The weed species, even when growing rather densely, did not affect the oil and protein content. With increasing weed density per unit of area the soybean grain and consequently the oil and protein yields decreased. With increasing weed population the pod and grain number plant decreased if the competitive development lasted throughout the vegetation period. The soybean grain mass and grain number per pod did not show substantial changes under the impact of the competition of various weed densities. The height of soybean plants decreased with increasing weed density and the height of the lowest pod increased.
