In an attempt to increase maize yield per unit area, several fertilizer and its related trials have been conducted in many Research Centers, sub-centers and testing sites of the Institute of Agricultural Research (IAR) in major maize growing areas of the country. Productivity index (PI) and value cost ratio (VCR) are calculated for trials conducted to determine optimum fertilizer rates.
