During three years the authors investigated eight forms of edible lentlis originating from various parts of the world. The investigations comprised the course of development phases, the height of formation of the lowest pod, the percentage of well-formed pods per plant, the number of seeds per plant, the mass of 1000 seeds, and the yield of seeds per ha. The chemical analysis covered the basic organic and mineral constituents. The investigations of healthiness comprised the identification of fungi causing the dying-off of plants of lentlis; the percentage of diseased plants was determined in the separate objects. The investigated plant material showed differences as to the analysed features.
