Befall von Kartoffelpflanzen durch Erwinia carotovora.
1995
Jaeggi W. | Oberholzer H. | Winiger F.A.
The effect of a simulated thunderstorm on the contamination of potato plants with Erwinia carotovora was tested in pot experiments. In porous soil no plants were infested, even when virulent Erwinia bacteria were added. Contamination was enhanced by blocked percolation and silting up. When both conditions were present at the same time, all plants died from blackleg even without Erwinia bacteria being added. Soft rot may occur without typical leaf symptoms and cause an unexpected spread of the disease.
