The author carries out a theoretical analysis of the influence of increasing the agricultural area on production effects of large and small peasant farms, using the mathematical model of diversified power function. Small farms are characterized by a higher marginal productivity, higher substitution and expansion effects than the big ones. The author's suggestion is to give preference in the agrarian policy to increase the area of small farms taking into account the present, limited possibilities of capital-intensive growth of agricultural production.
