Eleven types of imported edible margarines consumed in this country are investigated and compared to Bulgarian product "Kaliacra" according to the requirement set by the Ministry of health. All edible margarines investigated meet the requirements of the Bulgarian standards. Information is supplied on margarines, ingredients, dietary state, fats and oils content, and indices characterizing oxidative changes as acid and peroxide value. All components and additives are in accordance with international standards and sanitary legislation in the country of origin.
