Sampling was carried out in 13 communes of Katowice district. Concentration of lead and cadmium in samples of leaves ranged from 5.0 to 45.5 microgram per gram of dry weight and from 1.67 to 51.93 microgram per gram of dry weight, respectively. Calculations of metals amount being introduced with feed into organism of milk cows were presented. Calculations were carried out on the example of the high region and less polluted region. The results obtained show that mangel leaves may be one of the main cadmiun sources being introduced with feed into animal organisms.
