A crossing experiment with Rhode Island Red (RIR) commercial K-22 and experimental K-66 lines as well as Rhode Island White (RIW) commercial A-33 and experimental A-77 lines was carried out. A general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) was estimated. A statistically significant effect of GCA on body weight, feed conversion efficiency, egg weight and number, egg shell thickness and chicken mortality was stated. The significant effect of SCA on body weight, egg weight and egg shell thickness was observed.
