ELISA, PHAT and SNT were compared to evaluate humoral antibodies induced in pigs vaccinated with oil inactivated vaccines. A good correlation was found between ELISA and SN (r=0.78) and between PHAT and ELISA (r=0.89). PHAT gave rise to some false positives in spite of the sera being treated to eliminate non-specific absorption. The ELISA proved to be more sensitive than the SNT and the PHA test. Sera from pigs vaccinated twice with oil inactivated vaccines gave the following results: 87% were positive in the three tests used, 10.7% were positive by PHAT and ELISA and 3.57 only ELISA.
