The economics of sugar cane production in the Northern Lowveld of Swaziland.
1995
Atkins St. | Terry A.
Since the 1950s the sugar industry has developed into the most important branch in Swaziland. At present, returns to sugar industry in the northern lowveld of Swaziland are good. However, the regional and global terms of trade may get worse over the next years due to lower world sugar prices, a stiffer regional competition, and pressure from a relatively low paid workforce. Proposals are made on how to strengthen the viability of the branch.
