Technological quality parameters of alternative wheat cultivar Zemunka 1.

The wheat cultivar Zemunka 1 has high yielding capacity (to 12 t/ha). It is pure alternative wheat cultivar, can be successfully grown both in autumn and in spring sowing. Zemunka 1 is a high-protein cultivar about 15 crude proteins in wheat grain. Zemunka 1 gives very good-quality bread with bread yield of about 136 g/100 g of flour, bread volume greater than 400, good hectoliter mass larger than 80 kg. Zemunka 1 has high content of essential amino acid lysine in gliadin and glutenin fractions as well as glycine in protein glutenin fraction what is of importance for the grain bread-baking qualities of this wheat cultivar. Zemunka 1 belongs to the coarse-grained wheat cultivars. The cultivar breeder is Dr Aleksandar Djokic, Faculty of Agriculture - Belgrade, Yugoslavia.
