The purposes of the present studies were to clarify the effect of iron on the contents of total free fatty acids, free unsaturated fatty acids, phospholipids, and unsaturated fatty acids in phospholipids of liver, spleen and muscle tissues of rats. Twenty rats were divided into 4 groups each consisting of 5 rats. A group was fed a control diet, B group was fed the same control diet and administered 3 ml of 1.5% Fe(OH)3 by intramuscular injection per week, C group was fed the control diet containing 2.5% Fe(OH)3 for 60 days.
