An experiment has been carried out testing four maize hybrids created in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia (NS-640, NS-6666, NS-604 and NS-606) sown by two different methods (line and strip sowing). Though the results obtained are the first of the kind in Yugoslavia, an increase of the crop density can be expected if the strip sowing was applied as well as improvement of the sunlight utilization, which makes the green forage yields to be by 10-20 higher. Further investigations are needed if more reliable data about that are wanted, but in this case with a larger number of maize hybrids of different FAO maturity groups followed with a searching for the solution of the mechanical harvesting if the strip method of sowing was applied.
