The information is given on the estimations of the results of the agricultural year 1999/2000 in the conditions of radical reforming of the industry. The agrarian economy is stressed to work totally on new market grounds, in the conditions of considerable weakening of administrative intervention into the production and economic as well as into the commercial activities of agricultural enterprises. The article elucidates the role of the state in regulating the agricultural production market, functions of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, the necessity to increase concernment of real owners of land in its effective use. The possible approaches to settling the problems of liquidating debts, superfluous taxes, discriminating price system, material and technical support of agricultural commodity producers. The practice of involving foreign machinery in Ukraine is estimated, the domestic agricultural machinery production indices are given. Prospects of forming the Combine Harvesters Fleet in the year 2001 and regulation of prices for petrochemicals are considered.
