Grasses has been reported to have association with several fungi that refer to as plant growth promoting fungi (PGPF) that have role in its host protection from any pathogens. In this experiment, isolation of grasses rhizosphere fungi and its effect to fusarium wilt disease on red pepper is tested at glasshouse of Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University. The experiment was carried out from April 1999 to February 2000. Several candidates of isolated fungi showed to have a capability for inhibiting the growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici colony in in vitro examination, suppressed discoloration symptoms development at glasshouse and promoting the growth of red pepper plant.
