The investigation was carried out into the effects of the way of sowing of the spring wheat upon weed infestation of crops. The results obtained indicate the following: the total number of all weed plants in a two-year period did not alter by different ways of sowing. During the stage of flower formation, when floristic composition of the weed association was the most complex, a number of weed plants occurred in the variant with sowing in dense rows. By dense sowing, the dominant weed species on the average occur in a greater number. The number of dominant weed species in the total weed infestation is less with sowing in dense rows than with the standard narrow-rowed sowing.
