Health and yield of partridges are markedly influenced by feed quality. Imbalance of any of the feed components impairs health, yield and reproductive abilities. Health and causes of collective diseases and death of partridges after feeding by feeding mixture KK was observed. A complex examination determined the values of essential chemical elements in feeding mixtures and in some organs of partridges. High values of Mn, Yn and Cu were found in feed. The highest exceeding of the permitted amount of chemical elements was found in the KK feed (for Mn more than 88-times, Zn 31-times and Cu 9-times). In partridge organs high values of Mn and Zn were found, especially in the liver and kidneys. The onset, course of disease, death, pathological-anatomical changes and the effect on reproduction indicated intoxication, predominantly with Mn. Moderate increasing of Mn levels in K-89 and KZ feed mixtures for partridge chickens older than 3 weeks did not have a marked negative effect on health, death or yield. The findings indicate the importance of balancing and determining the content also of essential microelements in feeds to prevent diseases and death not only from deficiency, but also from a high abundance of these elements in feeds.
