Gene effect in interspecific hybrids for agronomic and quality characters (Zea mays L. x Zea mexicana).
1992
Chaudhry A.R. | Rehman N.
In an interspecific cross between Zea mays x Zea P mexicana, a scaling test with six generation means revealed the involvement of significant epistatic gene actions for green fodder, dry matter, plant height, tillers per plant and cobs per plant. Leaf breadth had no non-allelic interaction. Dominance x dominance epistatic effect was greater than other gene effects.
