In order to improve the production of lamb meat at Tsigai breed farm Batajnica (Yugoslavia) 50 pure breed Tsigai and 50 Ille de France ewes were mated with Ille de France rams. Results of body measuring parameters showed certain tendency. All body lengths were bigger in Tsigai than in crossbreds. Body widths were bigger in crossbreds than in Tsigai. Relative percentage of muscular, adipose, connecting tissues and bones had no significant difference between Tsigai and crossbreds. The surface of musculus longissimus dorsi was bigger in crossbreds than in Tsigai lambs. By means of crossbreeding the bigger body weight at weaning and daily gain was achieved. Crossbred carcasses are shorter and wider with better conformation. There was no influence on dressing percentage and percentage of muscular, adipose and bone tissues in the third rib cut. The crossbreeding should be continued but with Ille de France rams of better quality.
