The expression of some characters of the giant egg gene (Ge) in the dominant trimolter of Bombyx mori was investigated by introducing the M3 gene into the Ge strain. The egg characteristics including the size, shape, number and weight of egg, as well as the content and constitution of the yolk proteins, in the maternal genotype were expressed as adequately as in the tetramolter.
