Sugar and fodder beets gave the highest mean yields of dry matter and oat units. All the crops under comparison were characterized by a high concentration of energy whereas the root crops and kale had the highest content of protein in the leaves. The cheapest feed was obtained from maize. The most expensive feed was that from potatoes.
