The studies were carried out on 8 year-old cultivation of corn grown for grain in the light textured soil of a good rye complex near Wroclaw in the years 1977-82. A few hybrids have been used with the density of sowing 7 per sq. m. Soil has been fertilized using nitrogen comprised in urea - 100 kg/ha before sowing and 50 kg/ha at the stage of 4-5 leaves. Every 4 years manuring was performed using 30 t of manure/ha. The hybrids Kb 270 and Lg 7 reached the highest crop, i.e. 6.39 t/ha - Kb 270 and 6.28 t/ha - Lg 7. During 8 years of monoculture the quantity and the quality of the crop did not decline. Protein yield measured in kg/ha and the number of oat units per ha depended on the protein content of corn and weather conditions during the examined period.
