The results showed that seed yield was not significantly related to fruit weights of watermelon from 2.0-5.5 kilograms not but seed quality was highly significant. Germination percentage and seed vigour were found to be independent of fruit weight. Seed yield was found to be positively correlated to number of fruits per plant whereas seed quality was found to be inversely related to the number of fruits per plant. Three fruits per plant gave better seed quality and yield. The fruit on 16-20th node gave the most number of seeds per plant but the big fruits and top grade seeds were obtained from fruits growing on 1-10th node of main stem and lateral branch.
