On the basis of five wheat species (Triticum aestivum, T. turgidum L., T. durum Des F., T. dicoccum Schrank, and T. aethiopicum Jakubz, which were reciprocally backcrossed in all possible directions (eight to nine backcrosses)), a series of 20 alloplasmatic lines was obtained. Using these lines, a character of genome and plasmon effects on the frequency of induction of embryoids and regenerated plants from anthers was investigated. A visible effect of some cytoplasms upon the parameters investigated was observed. A conclusion was made about the dependence of trait expression on a certain nucleus cytoplasm combination.
