Effects of climatic factors and host age on spore release of Peronosclerospora philippinensis (Weston) C.G. Shaw.

The highest and lowest numbers of spores released by Peronosclerospora philippinensis (Weston) C.G. Shaw were 68 and 1.74 spores per cu m of air at three o'clock and ten o'clock in the morning, respectively. Spore release was not correlated to temperature, relative humidity and rainfall but negatively correlated to host age. The linear regression model for estimating the number of spores release as affected by host age is YSR = 46.86-0.212X.
