Climate conditions in Vojvodina (Yugoslavia) in the first part of growing season in 1994 have provided suitable conditions for the development of corn plants, but at the same time for the occurrence of European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) as well. The percent of the attacked plants in some regions has varied from 12 to 80, or 39 in average. In 1993 and 1994 a mass occurrence and reproduction of Cotton bollworm (Chloridea armigera) has appeared. During May and June 1994, at Sivac locality an occurrence of Pentodon idiota in adult stage has been recorded as a corn pest. In the middle of July 1992, just near the Belgrade airport, an occurrence of Western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera), a new corn pest for Yugoslavia and Europe was recorded.
