In Romania, soils are the most important natural resource. How well these are managed and protected has a significant impact on sustainable development and on society's progress potential. Policies that promote technological co-operation and the efficient use of soil resources can also help in finding solutions to develop sustainable agriculture avoiding soil deterioration, excessive use of harmful, energy-intensive chemicals and the preserving biodiversity.
