In the spring of 1989 the grafts of the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) clones of little, medium and abundant conebearing planted in 1975 were fertilized. The largest amount of fully formed cones after the fertilization was obtained from the grafts of abundant cone-bearing exceeded the yield of the grafts with little cone-bearing by 5.5 times. The mass of the cone of the grafts with abundant cone-bearing in the test variant N200P300K150 exceeded the control by 20 per cent of the average. The measurement of the cones of the grafts with abundant cone-bearing were considerably larger (P<0.001) after using complete fertilizer while the cones of the grafts with little cone-bearing had only a considerably bigger diameter (P<0,05).
