In the areas of fertile soil, sugarcane especially ratoon cane clearly responded to nitrogen fertilizer. Trials were conducted in the larger plot, and treatments consisted of 0-0-, 12-0-0, 24-0-0, 24-12-0 and 24-12-24 (N - P205 - K20 kg/rai). Six field trials were established in 3 provinces: Supanburi using Pindar and Q 83 varieties, Angthong using Pindar variety and Kanchanaburi using F 140, F 160 and Q 83 varieties. The result confirmed that nitrogen fertilizer considerably increased the yield of sugarcane and the yield had increased distinctly in well irrigated area. The application of nitrogen fertilizer alone did not have an effect on C.C.S. (commercial cane sugar).
