Rice processing industry in the Philippines: issues and perspectives.

The grain processing industry in the Philippines had undergone some substantial changes in terms of expansion and modernization in its facilities and operation in the past 25 years. A number of these efforts to improve and modernize the industry, however, have not been successful owing to a variety of technical, economic, socio cultural, and political factors. This paper attempts to examine these different variables and its impact on this modernization scheme.
