Certain up-to-date practical problems of anthelmintic treatments have been treated on the basis of the literature data, such as rentability of treatments, choice of anthelmintics available in Hungary and new applications (e.g. intraruminal bolus, pulse release bolus). By means of a simulation model, pharmacological characteristics of anthelmintics, the application (number, time of treatments, doses, etc.) have been demonstrated, as well as the correlation between the hosts and the parasitic infection of pastures. Principles of the control of parasitoses have been summarized, using the pasture helminthoses of ruminants as an example. Finally, indications of anthelmintics have been bfiefly reviewed by means of the risk of the development of drug-resistant Nematode strains can be diminished.
