The leaf biomass development of 40 broadleved woody plant taxa which are most frequently used in urban greenery was evaluated by the author's original comparative method of numerousness and leaf areas on branches and trees. The leaf biomass is evaluated on the basis of weight, area and spatial development in dependence on age and stem thickness. The leaf biomass formation is expressed in weight indices of fresh leaf area which ranges from 119.2677 g (Acer tataricum) to 310.6027 g (Fraxinus excelsior). The weight of dry leaves ranges from 48.3568 g (Robinia pseudoacacia) to 113.8117 g (Fraxinus excelsior). At the age of 50, Acer saccharinum forms the highest fresh leaf weight (307.2 kg) and Koelreuteria paniculata the lowest (17.9 kg). Leaf area results: 20-year old Robinia psedoacacia (256 sq m) and Sophora japonica (250.3 sq m) create the largest leaf area; at the age of 50 it is Acer saccharinum (1,834.3 sq m). The smallest leaf area was observed in Koelreuteria paniculata. The largest crown volumes were observed in 20-year old Sophora japonica (423.8 sq m), Populus simonii (358.7 sq m), Paulownia tomentosa (339.1 sq m) and in 50-year old Acer psedoplatanus (3,796.6 sq m) and Salix alba (2,966.3 sq m). The highest trees within the whole period of 50 years were Populus alba and Populus simonii.
