Non-castrated young bulls of the domestic (Yugoslav) Sarena breed were divided into 3 groups and fed different feed rations. The 1st group received ration A where the ratio of dry matter from the concentrate and corn silage mix was 70:30, and the 2nd group were given ration B where the ratio was 60:40, and the 3rd group received ration C where the ratio was 50:50. The highest average daily growth of young bulls (1.126 kg) was a result of ration A. The higher percentage of dry matter from corn silage in rations B and C showed a tendency to affect a decrease in the average daily growth of fattening young bulls (1.090 kg and 1.043 kg, respectively). The difference in the average daily growth between young bulls fed rations A and C was 0.083 kg (P<0.05). The differences in the average daily growth between young bulls fed rations A and B (0.036 kg), and B and C (0.047 kg) were not significant. The effect of conversion of dry matter is smaller in young bulls fed rations with more corn silage.
