The antierosion measures, the main element of which are ribbon fields with sodded buttresses on slopes and sodding of valley bottoms, led to an efficient checking of the water erosion of soil. Translocation of soil material over a short distance within particular ribbon fields occurred on slopes. The soil investigations have proved that the system of ribbon fields does not equalize the soil cover. Unfavourable changes occurred in the upper parts of the ribbon fields where the arable layer thickness and the humus content in it diminished.
