Azotobacter frequency and its effect on some maize hybrids.
1993
Govedarica M.
Azotobacter frequency was determined in soil, the rhizosphere and root zone in four maize hybrids grown in the field. Azotobacter frequency dependend on hybrid, zone and the year of investigation. The effectiveness of the isolated strains was tested according to the method of sand cultures. The maize plants were grown in distilled water for 30 days. The experiment parameters studied were the length and mass of plants and nitrogen content. The studied strains displayed specificity with respect to maize hybrids. The highest and lowest effectiveness was achieved in NSSC-432 and NSSC-530, respectively.
